These terms cover the Readxo app for iPhone and the website at readxo.com. By using either, you agree to them. They are written to be read, so please do.

Using Readxo

Readxo helps you find books. You may use it as a guest or with an account, for your own personal, non-commercial use. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign in details to yourself. You must be at least 13 to use Readxo.

Please do not try to scrape the catalog, overload the service, get around its limits, reverse engineer the app, or use Readxo for anything unlawful.

Your content

Your ratings, notes, and shelf are yours. Notes are private and are never shown to other readers. Share cards you create are yours to post wherever you like. By using Readxo you give us permission to store and process this content so the app can work for you.

The catalog

Book details, descriptions, and cover images come from Open Library and from publishers, and are provided as they are. We do our best to keep them accurate, but titles, page counts, publication years, and descriptions can be wrong or incomplete, and a summary written on your device is a rewrite of the publisher's text, not a review. Ratings and reader counts are signals from public reading data, not endorsements.

Buying books

Readxo sells nothing. Buy links take you to booksellers and libraries, and any purchase is between you and them under their terms. Some links are partner links, which means Readxo may earn a commission on a purchase at no extra cost to you. We do not control prices, availability, delivery, or returns.

Recommendations

The deck is a recommendation, not advice. Books in the catalog cover every subject, including mature themes, and the descriptions are publisher text. Use your own judgement about what to read.

Your account

You can delete your account at any time from Profile in the app, which removes all of your data. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. We may also change, pause, or end features of Readxo, and will give notice in the app when a change matters to you.

Ownership

The Readxo name, app, website, and design are ours. Book titles, cover art, and descriptions belong to their publishers and authors and appear in Readxo to identify and describe the books.

No warranty and limits on liability

Readxo is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any amount above what you paid us in the past twelve months, which for a free app is nothing. Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they apply as far as the law permits.

App Store

The app is distributed through the App Store, and Apple's standard terms for apps also apply. Apple is not responsible for the app or for these terms.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, the app will tell you the next time you open it, and this page will show the new date at the top. Continuing to use Readxo after a change means you accept the new terms.
