Privacy Policy

Readxo is a book discovery app. It works without an account, keeps what it collects to what the app needs, does not sell your data, and lets you delete everything in one step.
What Readxo collects
As a guest. When you first open the app it creates an anonymous account so your shelf and taste can be saved. That account is a random id. It is not linked to your name, email address, or device identifiers.
Your activity in the app. The books you save and pass on, what is on your shelf, your progress, ratings, and notes, your quiz answers and preferences, and taps on buy links. This is what the app uses to pick your next book and to show your shelf on every device you sign in on.
If you add a sign in. When you link Sign in with Apple or an email address, Readxo stores that email address (or the private relay address Apple gives you) and links it to your account so you can sign in again. Your activity is then associated with that account.

What Readxo does not do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No selling, renting, or sharing of your data with data brokers.
- No third party analytics or tracking software in the app.
- No access to your contacts, photos, location, or microphone.
- No cross-app or cross-site tracking.
On-device features
On iPhones that support Apple Intelligence, Readxo may rewrite a publisher's description into a short spoiler-free summary using the language model built into iOS. That happens on your device. The text is never sent to us or to anyone else. The colors that tint each book page are read from the cover image on your device in the same way.
Where your data lives
Your account and activity are stored with Supabase, a hosting provider that runs the database for Readxo. Supabase processes that data on our behalf and under our instructions. Cover images and catalog details are loaded from Open Library, which receives an ordinary web request for each image and cover, like any website that shows pictures.
Buy links
Buy links open the bookseller's website or app in your browser. From that point the bookseller's own privacy policy applies. Some links are partner links: if you buy something after following one, Readxo may earn a small commission. That does not change the price you pay and it does not send the bookseller anything about you from the app.
Deleting your data
In the app, open Profile and choose Delete account. That removes your account, your shelf, your taste profile, and every swipe at once, and it cannot be undone. If you only want a book gone, remove it from your shelf. A guest account holds nothing that identifies you, so if you delete the app without deleting the account, what remains is a random id and a list of swipes that cannot be traced back to you.
Children
Readxo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email support@readxo.com and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app will tell you the next time you open it, and this page will show the new date at the top.
